BP

GO:0007420

brain development

The process whose specific outcome is the progression of the brain over time, from its formation to the mature structure. Brain development begins with patterning events in the neural tube and ends with the mature structure that is the center of thought and emotion. The brain is responsible for the coordination and control of bodily activities and the interpretation of information from the senses (sight, hearing, smell, etc.).

IMP

BP

GO:0010628

positive regulation of gene expression

Any process that increases the frequency, rate or extent of gene expression. Gene expression is the process in which a gene's coding sequence is converted into a mature gene product or products (proteins or RNA). This includes the production of an RNA transcript as well as any processing to produce a mature RNA product or an mRNA (for protein-coding genes) and the translation of that mRNA into protein. Protein maturation is included when required to form an active form of a product from an inactive precursor form.

IEA

BP

GO:0021854

hypothalamus development

The progression of the hypothalamus region of the forebrain, from its initial formation to its mature state.

IMP

BP

GO:0034389

lipid particle organization

A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of a lipid particle.

IMP

BP

GO:0043010

camera-type eye development

The process whose specific outcome is the progression of the camera-type eye over time, from its formation to the mature structure. The camera-type eye is an organ of sight that receives light through an aperture and focuses it through a lens, projecting it on a photoreceptor field.

IMP

BP

GO:0043087

regulation of GTPase activity

Any process that modulates the rate of GTP hydrolysis by a GTPase.

IDA

GO:0043547

positive regulation of GTPase activity

Any process that activates or increases the activity of a GTPase.

IMP|ISS

BP

GO:0048172

regulation of short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity

A process that modulates short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity, the ability of neuronal synapses to change in the short-term as circumstances require. Short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity generally involves increasing or decreasing synaptic sensitivity.

ISS

BP

GO:0060079

excitatory postsynaptic potential

A process that leads to a temporary increase in postsynaptic potential due to the flow of positively charged ions into the postsynaptic cell. The flow of ions that causes an EPSP is an excitatory postsynaptic current (EPSC) and makes it easier for the neuron to fire an action potential.

ISS

BP

GO:0060325

face morphogenesis

The process in which the anatomical structures of the face are generated and organized. The face is the ventral division of the head.

IMP

BP

GO:0061646

positive regulation of glutamate neurotransmitter secretion in response to membrane depolarization

Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of glutamate secretion in response to membrane depolarization, where glutamate acts as a neurotransmitter.

ISS

BP

GO:0097051

establishment of protein localization to endoplasmic reticulum membrane

The directed movement of a protein to a specific location in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane.

IMP

BP

GO:1903061

Any process that modulates the frequency, rate or extent of calcium ion-dependent exocytosis of neurotransmitter.

ISS

BP

GO:1903373

positive regulation of endoplasmic reticulum tubular network organization

Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of endoplasmic reticulum tubular network organization.

IMP

BP

GO:2000786

positive regulation of autophagosome assembly

Any process that activates or increases the frequency, rate or extent of autophagic vacuole assembly.

IMP

CC

GO:0005789

endoplasmic reticulum membrane

The lipid bilayer surrounding the endoplasmic reticulum.

TAS

CC

GO:0005794

Golgi apparatus

A compound membranous cytoplasmic organelle of eukaryotic cells, consisting of flattened, ribosome-free vesicles arranged in a more or less regular stack. The Golgi apparatus differs from the endoplasmic reticulum in often having slightly thicker membranes, appearing in sections as a characteristic shallow semicircle so that the convex side (cis or entry face) abuts the endoplasmic reticulum, secretory vesicles emerging from the concave side (trans or exit face). In vertebrate cells there is usually one such organelle, while in invertebrates and plants, where they are known usually as dictyosomes, there may be several scattered in the cytoplasm. The Golgi apparatus processes proteins produced on the ribosomes of the rough endoplasmic reticulum; such processing includes modification of the core oligosaccharides of glycoproteins, and the sorting and packaging of proteins for transport to a variety of cellular locations. Three different regions of the Golgi are now recognized both in terms of structure and function: cis, in the vicinity of the cis face, trans, in the vicinity of the trans face, and medial, lying between the cis and trans regions.

IDA

CC

GO:0005811

lipid particle

An intracellular non-membrane-bounded organelle comprising a matrix of coalesced lipids surrounded by a phospholipid monolayer. May include associated proteins.

IDA

CC

GO:0043234

protein complex

A stable macromolecular complex composed (only) of two or more polypeptide subunits along with any covalently attached molecules (such as lipid anchors or oligosaccharide) or non-protein prosthetic groups (such as nucleotides or metal ions). Prosthetic group in this context refers to a tightly bound cofactor. The component polypeptide subunits may be identical.

IDA

CC

GO:0070062

extracellular exosome

A membrane-bounded vesicle that is released into the extracellular region by fusion of the limiting endosomal membrane of a multivesicular body with the plasma membrane. Extracellular exosomes, also simply called exosomes, have a diameter of about 40-100 nm.

IDA

CC

GO:0071782

endoplasmic reticulum tubular network

A subcompartment of the endoplasmic reticulum consisting of tubules having membranes with high curvature in cross-section.

IDA

CC

GO:0098794

postsynapse

The part of a synapse that is part of the post-synaptic cell.

IEA
