Ontology | GO ID | GO Term | Definition | Evidence |

BP |
GO:0006418 |
tRNA aminoacylation for protein translation |
The synthesis of aminoacyl tRNA by the formation of an ester bond between the 3'-hydroxyl group of the most 3' adenosine of the tRNA, to be used in ribosome-mediated polypeptide synthesis. |
TAS |
BP |
GO:0006430 |
lysyl-tRNA aminoacylation |
The process of coupling lysine to lysyl-tRNA, catalyzed by lysyl-tRNA synthetase. In tRNA aminoacylation, the amino acid is first activated by linkage to AMP and then transferred to either the 2'- or the 3'-hydroxyl group of the 3'-adenosine residue of the tRNA. |
IDA |
BP |
GO:0008033 |
tRNA processing |
The process in which a pre-tRNA molecule is converted to a mature tRNA, ready for addition of an aminoacyl group. |
NAS |
BP |
GO:0015966 |
diadenosine tetraphosphate biosynthetic process |
The chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of diadenosine tetraphosphate, a derivative of the nucleoside adenosine with four phosphate groups attached. |
IEA |
BP |
GO:0016032 |
viral process |
A multi-organism process in which a virus is a participant. The other participant is the host. Includes infection of a host cell, replication of the viral genome, and assembly of progeny virus particles. In some cases the viral genetic material may integrate into the host genome and only subsequently, under particular circumstances, 'complete' its life cycle. |
IEA |
CC |
GO:0005576 |
extracellular region |
The space external to the outermost structure of a cell. For cells without external protective or external encapsulating structures this refers to space outside of the plasma membrane. This term covers the host cell environment outside an intracellular parasite. |
IEA |
CC |
GO:0005634 |
nucleus |
A membrane-bounded organelle of eukaryotic cells in which chromosomes are housed and replicated. In most cells, the nucleus contains all of the cell's chromosomes except the organellar chromosomes, and is the site of RNA synthesis and processing. In some species, or in specialized cell types, RNA metabolism or DNA replication may be absent. |
IEA |
CC |
GO:0005737 |
cytoplasm |
All of the contents of a cell excluding the plasma membrane and nucleus, but including other subcellular structures. |
IDA |
CC |
GO:0005739 |
mitochondrion |
A semiautonomous, self replicating organelle that occurs in varying numbers, shapes, and sizes in the cytoplasm of virtually all eukaryotic cells. It is notably the site of tissue respiration. |
IDA |
CC |
GO:0005759 |
mitochondrial matrix |
The gel-like material, with considerable fine structure, that lies in the matrix space, or lumen, of a mitochondrion. It contains the enzymes of the tricarboxylic acid cycle and, in some organisms, the enzymes concerned with fatty acid oxidation. |
TAS |
CC |
GO:0005829 |
cytosol |
The part of the cytoplasm that does not contain organelles but which does contain other particulate matter, such as protein complexes. |
TAS |
CC |
GO:0005886 |
plasma membrane |
The membrane surrounding a cell that separates the cell from its external environment. It consists of a phospholipid bilayer and associated proteins. |
IEA |
CC |
GO:0015630 |
microtubule cytoskeleton |
The part of the cytoskeleton (the internal framework of a cell) composed of microtubules and associated proteins. |
IDA |
CC |
GO:0017101 |
aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase multienzyme complex |
A multienzyme complex found in all multicellular eukaryotes composed of eight proteins with aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase activities (abbreviated as: ArgRS, AspRS, GluProRS, GlnRS, IleRS, LeuRS, LysRS, MetRS where RS is the enzyme, preceded by the amino acid it uses as a substrate) as well as three non-synthetase proteins (p43, p38, and p18) with diverse functions. Several of these subunits are known dimers, so the total polypeptide count in the multisynthetase complex is at least fifteen. All of the enzymes in this assembly catalyze the same reaction, the covalent attachment of an amino acid to either the 2'- or 3'-hydroxyl of the 3'-terminal adenosine of tRNA, but using different substrates. |

GO:0005524 |
ATP binding |
Interacting selectively and non-covalently with ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator. |
IEA |
